The Sketch Comedy Project Fund – 2015 Recipients

The 2015 Sketch Comedy Project Fund

The Inaugural Sketch Comedy Project Fund 2015 Wrap-up

We were thrilled to partner with the Pat and Tony Adams Freedom Fund for the Arts in awarding the first Sketch Comedy Project Fund grants to two sketch troupes who were embarking on projects that represent the “next step” in their careers.

The Templeton Philharmonic – New York Tour

Gwynne Phillips and Briana Templeton, the duo behind The Templeton Philharmonic, were awarded a grant to travel to New York City in November 2015 to perform, attend industry panels, and  meet with agents, producers and other comedians.

In their travels, these motivated networkers met Jimmy Fallon, Janeane Garofalo, Billy Crystal, Michael Ian Black and reps from two comedy agencies.

The Junkyard Dukes – Sketch Comedy Album

The Junkyard Dukes, consisting of Phil Moorhead, Andy Auld, Joel Buxton and Daryn McIntyre produced and launched a self-titled comedy album using their grant from the Fund.

The album – a combination of audio sketch and song – is available for download on iTunes, and was favourably reviewed by The Comedy Network. The Dukes released the album at a party and show in July 2015.
