It’s that wonderful time of year again, when sketch comedians hunker down editing at a starbucks, trimming awkward pauses, and chasing that perfect comedic beat. Time to see if you really did “Fix it in Post”! TOsketchfest26 Film Festival submissions are officially open!
We’re thrilled to announce our 21st annual Toronto Sketch Comedy Festival, running March 4th – 15th, 2026. And as always, we’re kicking things off with the TOsketchfest Film Festival, opening the festival on March 4th. It will be an evening dedicated to the funniest short films, sketches, and digital creations Toronto and the rest of the world has to offer.

- Early Bird Deadline: November 21, 2025
- Extended Deadline: December 12, 2025
(Because yes, we know how artists and deadlines usually get along.)
What We’re Looking For
The TOsketchfest Film Festival is on the hunt for the best comedic short films and digital sketches produced in the last year. We’re looking for:
- Character and ensemble performances that stick,
- Sketches that slay, (period)
- Musical comedy that moves,
- Animated absurdities,
- Reels and TikToks (digital shorts) that prove brilliance can fit into 90 seconds or less.
If it’s short, smart, and seriously funny, we want to see it!

Note: Acceptance to past festivals doesn’t guarantee future inclusion. Every year, we start fresh, just like that one comedian who “retires” their best bit and immediately writes a better one.

Q: My project won’t be finished before the deadline!
A: No worries, we love a work-in-progress. Reach out to ivan@torontosketchfest.com to discuss your options.
Q: I’d love to submit, but cost is a challenge.
A: Totally fair. Comedy can be priceless… but also pricey. Drop Ivan a note, we want to keep this opportunity accessible for everyone.
Q: Can I still apply to perform live?
A: Live submissions are now closed and the Film Fest is ready for its close-up.
