In this panel you will learn about the ever changing digital landscape and how to stand out from the crowd online. From social media to digital strategy, you’ll hear from a panel of experts working in the arts about how you can build your brand, build (and keep!) your audience – and how to convert that to IRL results.

Hosted by TOsketchfest producer Damien Nelson, this panel of experts includes Savanna Chiblow (Indigenous Screen Office), Emily Jung (Theatre Passe Muraille), B Ramesh (Cartel Madras), and Briana Templeton (Templeton Philharmonic).

This panel will include a moderated Q&A in a Live Zoom webinar, with captions.
Program Length is approximately 60 minutes

Speakers:

Savanna Chiblow
Social Media and Digital Communications Manager – Indigenous Screen Office

Savanna Chiblow is a 2Spirit Anishinaabe from Mississaugi First Nation with settler roots on her father’s side. She holds an Honours Bachelor of Journalism degree from Humber College and has over seven years of experience working as a digital communications storyteller and community builder. Savanna is currently the Social Media and Digital Communications Manager at the Indigenous Screen Office and casually works on digital and web contracts. She now sits on the Native Canadian Centre of Toronto and the Oakville Public Library board of directors. Savanna has worked with notable organizations such as imagineNATIVE, TIFF, Miziwe Biik, Indigenous Fashion Arts, and Humber College. She lives within Treaty #14/#22 with her partner, three cats, and a rez dog. When she’s not working, Savanna crafts and watches The Office on repeat.

 

Emily Jung
Marketing Manager – Theatre Passe Muraille

Emily Jung (she/her) is an interdisciplinary artist/artsworker working in Toronto with a focus on the nonprofit arts sector, currently working as Marketing Manager at Theatre Passe Muraille. She has been working in cultural organizations (such as the International Festival of Authors, and the Toronto International Film Festival) with a keen interest in industry programs, community centric fundraising, and inclusive marketing. She is a co-founder of the arts collective: Labour In The Arts, which aims to demystify the nonprofit arts sector and foster a new generation of artist/artsworker community.

 

B Ramesh
Cartel Madras

B Ramesh is a producer, marketer, director, and artist. She is one half of the Canadian experimental hip-hop group, Cartel Madras, and a founding member of the interdisciplinary production house, FRNRZ. She is a proponent of knowing your brand, driving it forward, and using it to open doors for your art.

 

Briana Templeton
Templeton Philharmonic

Briana Templeton is a writer, performer, producer and arts marketing specialist. She’s also one half of the comedy duo The Templeton Philharmonic (“Best Duo” LA Comedy Fest, “Producer’s Pick” at TO Sketchfest). On the marketing side, she has worked with brands such as CTV, Bad Dog Theatre Company, 20th Century Fox, Serendipity Point Films and Coca-Cola. As an actor, she’s appeared in several series including “The Handmaid’s Tale” (HBO), “The Boys” (Amazon Prime) and more. You can check out The Templeton Philharmonic’s recent projects “The Women’s Hour” and “Yukon” on CBC Gem.
