The 2022 Learning and Fun Program will kick off with the Meet the CBC Comedy Team panel. Join Sarah Quan (Executive in Charge of Development, Comedy) and Sandra Picheca (Director of Production, Comedy), as they outline the current vision for comedy at CBC, and how you can pitch your work across various platforms.
This panel will include a moderated Q&A in a Live Zoom webinar, with captions.

Sarah Quan – Executive in Charge of Development, Comedy
Sarah Quan is the Executive in Charge of Development, Comedy Scripted at CBC. Prior to joining CBC, Quan was a Creative Executive at Northwood Entertainment (Anne With An E) where she oversaw the day-to-day creative and logistical development of television and feature film projects in development and production. As an award-winning film producer and creative executive, Quan is dedicated to discovering and nurturing underrepresented voices with fresh perspectives and producing work that changes culture and explores stories that have yet to be told.
Sandra Picheca – Director of Production, Comedy
Sandra Picheca was appointed to the new role of Director of Current Production, Comedy in February 2021. Picheca has served as Executive in Charge of Production, Comedy since 2012, overseeing the development and production of such acclaimed and award-winning CBC original comedies as Kim’s Convenience, Workin’ Moms, Sort Of, Mr. D and This Hour Has 22 Minutes. Prior to joining CBC, she produced documentaries and short comedy films and was also CTV/Rogers’ managing editor of features and documentaries for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Games.
Ben Sosa Wright – Host
Ben Sosa Wright is a pretty and nice comedian who has been featured on CBC Comedy, JFL42, Limestone Comedy Festival, Reader’s Digest, and Xtra. With Aba Amuquandoh, he hosts the Nostalgique podcast, a weekly kiki of pop music nostalgia that has been featured in The Toronto Star, and Vulture magazine.
