Alia DeSantis is an actor, comedian and filmmaker based in Toronto, Canada. After graduating from the Film and Television program at Humber College, she enrolled in the improv program at the Second City Training Centre. While honing her skills and making her mark in the Toronto improv scene, Alia began producing her own improvised comedy show, ‘Booze Clues’, co-starring with comedic icons Colin Mochrie (Whose Line Is It Anyway), Andrew Phung (Kim’s Convenience) and Mark Little (Mr. D).

Behind the camera, Alia formed her own production company, Slightly Sketchy Productions, and has worked tirelessly writing, producing and directing everything from short films and music videos, to internet commercials. This triple threat’s impressive list of credits has caught the eye of the international festival circuit, garnering numerous nods and laurels. Her latest short, ‘El Paycho’ was picked up by Parallel Universe Pictures for distribution worldwide with Vimeo On Demand and Amazon Prime in the U.S. and the U.K.

Alia recently created a second production company, “Snake Pit Productions”, which focuses on her comedic sketches. It is responsible for “Killer Puns” as well as two unreleased projects and one in pre-production. She often works alongside her brother, musician Gabriel DeSantis (King Cardiac), who not only makes cameo appearances in her work but is also the main cinematographer.
