TOsketchfest20 at Crow’s Theatre

For the second year in a row TOsketchfest has partnered with Streetcar Crowsnest Theatre to present marquee sketch comedy shows in Toronto’s East End over two weekends.

From March 5 – 7, 2020 the line will include the much anticipated return of dynamic sketch duo Peter ‘N Chris, and the Edinburgh Fringe hit Uncommonwealth by The Lusty Mannequins. From March 12 – 14, 2020 the line up will include remounts of hit sketch revues Dead Parents Society, directed by Kirsten Rasmussen, and The Weight of It All by Gillian Bartolucci, directed Carly Heffernan.

Peter N’ Chris are back in Toronto with their smash hit show Peter Vs Chris March 6 and 7 for three shows! Three time Canadian Comedy Award winning duo Peter n’ Chris (CBC, Just For Laughs) return to the stage with their smash hit show Peter Vs Chris — only this time ITS THE LAST TIME*.  ONLY ONE of them will survive, in this hilarious sketch comedy show where ONLY ONE of them will survive!
*Several performances. No actual deaths

Fresh off a run at the 2019 Edinburgh Fringe Festival, The Lusty Mannequins are excited to bring their hit show UNCOMMONWEALTH to the Toronto Sketch Comedy Festival March 5 – 7. The Lusty Mannequins (Ashley Comeau, Alastair Forbes, Karen Parker, Connor Thompson, all alumni of the Second City) are “incredibly talented” and “rehearsed to perfection.” (The List UK). With sketches that pair intimacy with absurdity, the serious with the silly, and dinner parties with yelling into penises (obviously), they use their patented mix of sketch and expert improvisation to delve into the twisted world of the human experience. This “sure to sell out act” (NOW Magazine) bring decades of comedy experience, including multiple Canadian Comedy Awards.

Dead Parents Society, a dark sketch comedy revue written and performed by comedians with deceased parents, will shine a light at the end of the tunnel March 12 – 14. Losing a parent is always hard. Losing a parent when your peers are constantly complaining about their mom calling them too often is brutal. The experience of navigating grief, in a society that teaches us to put sadness away into tiny little drawers, taught us that the aftermath of tragedy can be funny AF.

The Weight of It All is an original solo sketch comedy that will take you on a hormonal journey through body image, disordered eating, fertility issues, the new sex ed curriculum, and death – all while mercury is in retrograde! On stage March 12 – 14, The Weight of It All was written by Gillian Bartolucci (The Sketchersons, Just For Laughs, JFL42) and directed by Carly Heffernan (Second City Toronto, Second City Chicago, She The People).

When one show just isn’t enough – grab the TOsketchfest’20 Festival Pass to see all of the shows at Crow’s! The TOsketchfest’20 Festival Show Pass is just $45 until February 15.
