Sketch Shows You Should See This June

Live sketch comedy is back in the city of Toronto! In addition to celebrating the best of the best at TOsketchfest22 – Screen Time Edition in person on the big screen, we cannot wait to check out all of the live and in your face showcases and revues throughout the month of June.

 

The Disaster on June 7, 14, 18 and 21

Disaster is “a monthly alt comedy show that has been around too long” produced by Alex Kolanko (Public Works, Bleak, Sketchersons), and this June you can experience it weekly! Now at Wenona Lodge on Bloor, Disaster will present Goof Parade with Uber & Klonk on June 7; The Disaster Show, a legendary alt comedy spectacular now in its 9th year, on June 14; and Corporate Pride with Ajahnis Charley on June 28.

Gag Reflex: A Comedy Variety Show on June 14

Gag Reflex is a monthly variety show that ends with an evening of karaoke! In this ridiculously funny Pride edition show you’ll see musical comedy, sketch, and more with performances by Party Room, Joy Provision, Nose Bros, Lou Currie, Rachel Manson, and Clownprov – all hosted by Jordan Shore, Taylor Hreljac and Peter Cheema.

Hosted by 2020 Best of the Fest winner Laura Ramoso, the Best of the Fest Award Show will feature a screening of the nominated work, plus five award presentations on Thursday, June 23 at 7pm at The Fox Theatre. That’s right, we will finally get to watch these hilarious sketch comedy shorts on the big silver screen.

Good News Toronto is made by Toronto for Toronto, and features the city’s most talented comics with a dash of chaotic idiocy. This month they will be talking about the electoral results, a corpse giving a concert, and so much more silliness. Good News Toronto will star Ally Medeiros, Brie Watson, Emily Ferrier, Gerald Yeung, Jasmine Irwin, Jeremy Friedmann, Linda Julia Paolucci, Korri Birch, and Quentin Matheson with special guest Marc Hallworth.
