The 18th annual Toronto Sketch Comedy Festival was proud to present the 2023 Best of the Fest Show on Sunday, March 19 at 6pm at The Theatre Centre, Franco Boni.
The Best of the Fest Show, hosted by Denise McLeod, included performances and award presentations of six Festival awards including Outstanding Comedy Short presented by The Second City, Sketchiest Sketch Troupe, Audience Choice Festival Series, Audience Choice Long Form, Producers’ Pick, and Best of the Fest presented by Church + State.
The 2023 Best of the Fest Winners are:
Outstanding Comedy Short presented by The Second City – Navi Boys by Mike Mildon
Sketchiest Sketch Troupe – Cheap Wine
Audience Choice Festival Series – Don Valley Girls
Audience Choice Long Form – Good News Toronto
Producers’ Pick – Big Chick Energy
Best of the Fest presented by Church + State – Jon Blair
Honourable Mentions: Ajahnis Charley, Robert Haughton, and West 2 West
These prestigious comedy awards were presented by Joy Provision, Anesti Danelis, The Understudies, and TOsketchfest team members Virginia Woodall, Ivan Hutomo, Julianne Snepsts, and Paul Snepsts.
The Best of the Fest show celebrated TOsketchfest23 – which was 10 days packed with remarkable mashup of contemporary sketch comedy, drag, storytelling, musical comedy, and clown – all performed by unforgettable ensembles and spectacular solo acts.
