Looking for Toronto Comedy Shows to See in July? The Toronto Fringe Festival is the perfect place to start. Running June 30 to July 12, Toronto’s 38th annual Fringe Festival features 123 independently produced shows across 27 venues, with most ticket revenue going directly to the artists themselves. This year’s comedy lineup finds plenty of laughs in uncertain times, from apocalypses and artificial intelligence to nostalgic childhoods and the “good old days.” Whether they’re imagining the future, revisiting the past, or simply embracing glorious absurdity, these are the 15 comedy shows we’re most excited to catch.
Fifteen Comedy Shows to See at Toronto Fringe 2026 (alphabetically):
$20 Sandwich Ruins Your Childhood
Every generation insists their childhood was better. $20 Sandwich is here to test that theory. This audience-driven improv show takes beloved memories, favourite cartoons, and treasured moments from the past and spins them into something wonderfully ridiculous. We’ve loved seeing $20 Sandwich on the TOsketchfest stage over the years, and can’t wait to see what nostalgic improv chaos they have in store at the Fringe.
1 Santosh Santosh 2 Go: Live at Grindcon
The world may not need another tech bro thought leader, but comedy certainly does. Srutika Sabu’s Santosh Santosh is equal parts confidence, buzzwords, and spectacularly misplaced ambition, creating the kind of character audiences love to laugh at and occasionally recognize from real life. After watching this brilliantly cringe-inducing character delight TOsketchfest audiences, we’re excited to see what Santosh has to say at Grind-Con.
2-MAN NO-SHOW: Balls Out!
Trying to explain a 2-MAN NO-SHOW performance is a bit like trying to explain a fever dream. Physical comedy, clowning, improv, audience participation, and delightful absurdity all collide in this wildly inventive show from Ken Hall and Isaac Kessler. If you’re looking for something completely different this Fringe, this is it.
2076: A Sketch Comedy Show
If anyone’s qualified to imagine the future, it’s sketch comedians. Solo Act returns to the Fringe with a brand-new collection of sketches exploring the next 50 years, promising absurd timelines and wonderfully ridiculous possibilities. After a standout Fringe run in 2024, this is one we’re looking forward to catching.
A Comedy Show at the End of the World
If civilization is coming to an end, we might as well laugh about it. This inventive solo comedy combines sketch, music, and storytelling to answer one important question: what role does a comedian play after the apocalypse? Following a successful Edmonton Fringe run and a Featured Series performance at TOsketchfest this spring, this is one we’re excited to see back on a Toronto stage.
Artificially Intelligent 2.0
Some comedy shows get a sequel. This one gets an update. After award-winning runs in Toronto, Edinburgh, and Australia, Anesti Danelis returns with Artificially Intelligent 2.0, the next version of his AI-inspired comedy experiment. We’ve been fans of Anesti’s work for years, and can’t wait to see what new glitches this latest version has in store.
BDB Mandarin Comedy Night
Great comedy can cross any language barrier. BDB Comedy brings Mandarin sketch and improv to the Fringe, with live English captions for its sketch performances so everyone can join the fun. Following a standout appearance in TOsketchfest’s Featured Series earlier this year, this is a wonderful opportunity to experience one of the city’s most unique comedy shows.
By Popular Demand
If we’re reliving the 1920s, we might as well lean into the sparkle. By Popular Demand promises music, sketch comedy, and a healthy dose of cheeky escapism, all wrapped up in a delightfully vintage package. Written by a Sketchfest darling, Janelle McGuinness, and directed by Carly Heffernan, this is one we’re looking forward to seeing come to life.
D.E.I. Another Day
Some stories call for subtlety. This is not one of them. From the team behind Fringe favourites Colonial Circus and Once Upon a Time in Bollywood, D.E.I. Another Day blends workplace satire, Bollywood spectacle, and larger-than-life comedy into what promises to be another wildly entertaining ride. If their previous shows are any indication, expect big laughs, big energy, and plenty of heart.
Every Fringe Show You’ve Ever Seen All At Once
The Toronto Fringe has its own unique brand of chaos, and this show is embracing all of it. Every Fringe Show You’ve Ever Seen All At Once promises to lovingly celebrate the wonderfully eclectic world of Fringe theatre through an original sketch revue. With a cast of some of Toronto’s most seasoned comedy performers behind it, we’re expecting plenty of knowing laughs for Fringe veterans and newcomers alike.
LADIES’ DAY
The “good old days” weren’t always quite so good. Ladies’ Day mixes comedy, camaraderie, and 1960s suburbia as a group of housewives gather each week to escape the pressures of domestic life, revealing the stories hidden beneath the laughter. Featuring several familiar TOsketchfest alumni, this production is packed with tried-and-trusted comedy talent, making it one we’re especially excited to catch at the Fringe.
Mirv-“ish”: An Improvised Musical
Broadway may have Wicked, but Fringe has something even more unpredictable. Mirv-ish creates a brand-new improvised musical every single night, meaning no two performances will ever be the same. Led by a cast of some of Toronto’s top musical improvisers and coached by Ashley Botting, this is one we’re excited to see take shape, one audience suggestion at a time.
Potato Potato Saves the World (?)
If aliens were deciding whether humanity deserves another chance, we’d definitely want Potato Potato making our case. Their latest sketch comedy show blends political satire, original music, and an intergalactic apocalypse into what promises to be a wonderfully absurd adventure. As the 2026 TOsketchfest Audience Choice Award winners, they’re a troupe we’ve loved watching grow, and we’re excited to see what they’ve created with support from the Sketch Comedy Project Fund.
Tortoise, the Hare, and the Truth
Who says the Tortoise and the Hare only raced once? Sweet Action Theatre reimagines the world’s most famous rivalry with clowning, physical comedy, and an unapologetically absurd theatrical style all their own. After collecting awards at Fringe festivals across North America, this delightfully offbeat company has earned a reputation for unforgettable work, and we’re excited to see what they bring to Toronto this year.
You Choose: An Improvised Murder Mystery
Everyone loves a good murder mystery, but this one comes with a twist: the audience knows who the killer is before the detectives do. You Choose puts its improvisers in the ultimate whodunit, asking them to solve a mystery they’re creating in real time. From the team behind ‘Entrances and Exits’ and ‘Murder at the Winterhouse’, this is a concept that’s simply too much fun to pass up.

One of the best parts of the Fringe is discovering something you never expected to love, so don’t stop at just one show. Grab a pass, take a chance on a few new comedians, and we’ll see you around the Fringe this July.
