Sunday, August 9th
I caught an earlier version of Short King at Toronto Fringe this summer, and it’s been living in my head ever since. Through shadow puppets, original songs, and a whole lot of heart, this charming show explores grief in a way that’s funny, tender, and deeply human. Whether you’re five or ninety-five, Short King is a beautiful reminder that the people (and dogs) we love never really leave us. Don’t miss it before it heads to Edmonton Fringe.

The Beta Chronicles Presents “Beta Meets World”
Thursday, August 13th
We’ve got our eye on The Beta Chronicles, and this feels like the perfect chance to see what they’re all about. This emerging sketch troupe is joined by TOsketchfest darling, Summer Dad, and hosted by the always-delightful Taylor Hreljac, making for a lineup that’s packed with sketch comedy talent. We love discovering the next generation of funny people and this feels like one of those nights.

Who’s Gonna Push Your Wheelchair
August 18th – 22nd
After taking audiences across the country by storm, Karin Fekko is finally bringing Who’s Gonna Push Your Wheelchair home to Toronto. Blending deeply personal storytelling with dark comedy, the show explores disability, family, relationships, and independence through Karin’s unmistakable wit. We can’t wait to catch this heartfelt, honest, and funny show when it arrives at Sweet Action Theatre.

The Last Laugh: Humber Comedy’s New Faces of 2026
Wednesday, August 19th
It’s the end of an era. Humber’s legendary Comedy Program has helped launch the careers of comedians like Nathan Fielder, Steph Tolev, and Kurtis Conner, and this graduating class will be its last. The Last Laugh celebrates the next generation of comedy with an evening of sketch and stand-up. It’s a chance to see tomorrow’s stars before everyone else gets to say they saw them first. Twenty-six years of laughs, one last show.

Little Miss Normal Pilot Premiere and Live Show
Friday, August 28th
One of Toronto’s smartest improv troupes is taking a break from making things up on the spot to premiere something they’ve been carefully crafting for the past year and a half. Little Miss Normal is debuting their brand-new sketch comedy pilot before hitting the stage for a live improv performance, making this a one-of-a-kind evening of filmed and live comedy. If you’ve seen them improvise before, you’ll definitely want to see what happens when they have time to write things down.
