Staff

Paul Snepsts –  Executive Director
paul@torontosketchfest.com

Paul Snepsts has been farting around in creative spaces for a looong time. After a life recording and touring in rock and roll in the 90s, he discovered live comedy improvising at Theatre Sports Toronto. That led to this love of sketch comedy, forming award-winning sketch troupes that toured North American festivals before starting one of his own, co-founding TOsketchfest in 2005. On screen, Paul is a Gemini-award winning actor and currently produces and hosts the NCRA Award winning radio show “The Sneptic Tank.” Really tho – he’s just a dorky dad who loves creativity–doing and making some of his own, and creating spaces for other folks to do the same.

Julianne Snepsts –  Managing Producer
julianne@torontosketchfest.com

Julianne has been around the fest from the beginning – she is one of the founding producers and has worn a variety of hats over the last 20 years. These days, she’s your go-to gal for financial questions, human resources, and all things box office, front of house and customer service. Julianne is an occasional improviser and sketch writer-performer. She has a background and training in arts management, human resources and municipal administration. When she’s not yucking it up with comedy pals, she works in municipal community development, is a mom to two busy dudes, and is thoroughly obsessed with rock climbing.

Virginia Woodall – Producer
virginia@torontosketchfest.com

Virginia is an arts administrator and creative producer with a background that bridges the cultural and corporate sectors (she’s a textbook Libra: very balanced). Drawing on years of experience in comedy, live performance, and festival production, she combines strategic thinking with a deep love for the creative process. Her prior work in corporate sales and marketing helps her build buzz, grow partnerships, and develop organizational growth strategies. Virginia is passionate about creating inclusive, accessible, and joyful arts experiences that support artists and strengthen community. Whether managing complex productions or crafting big-picture plans, She brings curiosity, creativity, and care to every project – plus a few great snacks.

Ivan Hutomo –  Digital Producer
ivan@torontosketchfest.com

Ivan has been in the Entertainment Industry for over 15 years working as a Director, Producer, Writer, Editor and Performer/Actor – he wears all the hats! He has worked on many TV/Film productions in a creative producing/directing capacity such as So You Think You Can Dance Canada, CBC’s Over The Rainbow, YTV’s The Zone, Big Brother Canada, Fringe & Beast Games. He also helped to develop MasterChef Canada and worked with various movie studios during his time with Cineplex Entertainment. He has also been a part of many stage/screen productions like The Rocky Horror Picture Show (Brad), Legally Blonde (Warner), The Recruit (Netflix) and Gen V (Amazon Prime). He is currently in an up-and-coming sketch troupe called The Banana Loafers (look out!) with fellow TSCF staff members and actors, Gordon Harper and Jennifer Beth-Hanchar. He also lives his best dance life with Studio XIV Dance Company in Newmarket.

Artists

The artists who perform at the Toronto Sketch Comedy Festival are a dynamic mix of comedic writer-performers, ranging from fresh-faced up-and-comers to seasoned pros. They represent a wide spectrum of styles and perspectives, but all share a passion for smart, original, and fearless comedy. Some are comedy collectives formed in theatre school, some are long-running troupes with cult followings, and others are solo artists creating characters, satire, or multimedia sketches that push the form in new directions.

Festival alumni have gone on to write for television, tour internationally, and appear on shows like Baroness von Sketch Show, TallBoyz, and Run the Burbs. Many are active in their local comedy scenes, performing in clubs, DIY spaces, and online platforms. Whether they’re based in Toronto, from across Canada, or visiting from the U.S., TOsketchfest artists bring bold voices, fresh ideas, and a deep love of making people laugh.
