Policies & FAQs
Below you’ll find all the ins and outs of TOsketchfest. Everything you need to know to hit the ground running, so you can focus on laughing your socks off.
Code of Conduct
The Toronto Sketch Comedy Festival is committed to creating a safe, welcoming and anti-racist space where all people are treated with respect and dignity. We strive for an atmosphere of respectful creative exchange, and positive personal and professional growth.
Laughter and performer-led audience interaction is highly encouraged. If audience interaction is deemed inappropriate or overly disruptive for performers/other audience members, TOsketchfest reserves the right to remove audience members from performances.
Content
TOsketchfest shows are created for an adult audience. Content may include some dirty language, suggested sexual content, suggested mild drug use and/or adult themes. While we are able to admit comedy lovers of all ages, parental discretion is advised for audience under 18.
Refunds/Exchanges
All ticket sales are final. No refunds are permitted; however, you may exchange the value of your ticket for another TOsketchfest event if you contact us by email at least 48 hours BEFORE your event starts. If an exchange is not possible, we can convert your ticket purchase to a donation to TOsketchfest, one of Canada’s only charities with comedy at the core of our mandate!
Tickets
All TOsketchfest tickets are digital. Please review the ticket(s) emailed at the time of purchase. We encourage you to save tickets to your Apple Wallet or Google Wallet to make finding tickets on the day of your show as easy as possible.
General Admission
All TOsketchfest events are general seating and seats are available on a first-come first-serve basis. Large parties may have to split up depending on available seating.
Arrival Time
We recommend arriving 30 minutes before your screening so you can settle in and enjoy every moment of your Festival experience.
Your seat will be held until 5 minutes before showtime. After that, we can’t guarantee your spot, and it may be offered to guests in the Rush Line.
This policy helps us make every show as fun, full, and laughter-packed as possible. We believe a buzzing, full house sets the stage for the best kind of comedy magic, the kind that only happens when performers feed off an audience that’s fully there for it. By keeping no-shows (and empty seats) to a minimum, we make sure every person who wants to see the show gets their moment to laugh along.
Rush Seating
For sold-out shows, the box office will start a rush list one hour before showtime. Swing by early, check in with the team, and add your name. You might just snag a seat for the hottest show at the festival!!
Latecomers
Latecomers will be admitted to a show at the usher’s discretion (available seating permitting). This may result in latecomers waiting an additional five or more minutes to enter the theatre to provide the least disruption to audiences and performers.
Why the wait? Some venues enter at the back of the theatre and seating latecomers is easier, while other venues enter at the front of the stage – making late entrances more disruptive.
Accessibility
TOsketchfest aims to accommodate all patrons and their accessibility needs. Should you require assistance with any accessibility concerns, you are encouraged to note this at the time of purchase or reach out to our box office team (boxoffice@torontosketchfest.com).
Accessibility notice: The Comedy Bar has approximately 15 steps to enter the venue, with no elevator access. The Theatre Centre has an elevator and accessible washroom.
Cashless Payment
TOsketchfest works in a cashless environment and encourages contactless payment.
Programming Changes
All programming is subject to change without notice. Programming changes will be communicated to ticket holders by email, and our website and social media.
Storage
TOsketchfest rents venues for the duration of the festival and these venues do not have storage space for audience member belongings. If bringing large bags, bicycles, etc. to a performance, it is your responsibility to find a place to store them outside of the venue.
Food
No food or drink sold outside of TOsketchfest venues is permitted in the theatre spaces.
Photography/Videography
Photography and videography by general audience members is not permitted during TOsketchfest shows, unless encouraged by the performers. Audience members may be approached by staff should photography/videography occur during a performance.
All photographers/videographers must be approved by TOsketchfest.
TOsketchfest reserves the right to record performances for publicity/archival purposes. By entering a TOsketchfest venue, you consent to photography/videography.
