TOsketchfest BrunchFast

You are invited to the TOsketchfest BrunchFast at The Dog and Bear Pub (across the street from The Theatre Centre). No agenda, no activities – just brunch and sketch comedy convos in the light of day.

Part party, part performance opportunity – TOsketchfest participants are invited to Sketch Train Saturday nights. This loose, celebratory event is a place for artists to embrace their whimsy. Enjoy a drink on TOsketchfest, non-alcoholic drinks, and snacks throughout the evening. Sign up upon arrival to perform a sketch in front of your peers.

Since 2010 TOsketchfest has presented The Understudies Sketchiest Sketch Troupe Memorial Award to the troupe performing in the Festival who “best embodies what sketch and sketch troupes are all about.” This memorial award was introduced to honour The Understudies’ legacy when they ‘retired’ nearly 15 years ago … and yet we see them back in the community and on the festival schedule … How sketchy is that? ;)

This is a peer-nominated award in honour of The Understudies, one of only two troupes to have performed in all of the first five years of TOSketchFest.

We will have a voting bucket at Sketch Train on March 16. Throw in your nominations for Sketchiest Sketch Troupe and we will announce the winner that night. The will also receive a shout out at the Best of the Fest Show on Sunday, March 17.

Counterfeit Pictures teams up with TOsketchfest to present this fun and informal meet and greet between TOsketchfest artists and members of Canada’s film and television industry.

This is your chance to meet industry leaders in production and development, plus fellow comedy creators, all while enjoying complimentary food from Diana’s Seafood.

This invitation is for TOsketchfest24 Festival artists only. Space is limited. RSVPs are required for entry.

SECOND CITY – REHEARSAL SPACE FOR OUT OF TOWN PERFORMERS

The Second City is offering out-of-town Toronto Sketchfest participants free rehearsal space during the weeks of February 29 – March 16. Spaces are subject to availability and generally limited to 10am-5pm.

To request a rehearsal space, please email Susan – swaycik@secondcity.com (and CC Emily – ealjbouri@secondcity.com) with the subject “Sketchfest Rehearsal Space – (INSERT TROUPE/PERFORMER NAME)” and someone will get back to you within 48 hours of your request.

The Second City is located at 1 York St. (entrance is 110 Harbour St., 3rd Floor).
